Patronato Pro Niños provides dental services through our four mobile dental units that visit the over 500 communities throughout San Miguel de Allende, and in our dental office. Children receive preventative dental care including cleanings, extractions, fillings, and other oral treatments as well as oral health education.
Patronato Pro Niños´ medical services are comprehensive. Not only do we provide care for the common cold, but we also offer treatments to alleviate chronic diseases. We support children with a multitude of needs: from dialysis supplies for kidney aliments to medications for cancer, diabetes, seizures, allergies, transplants, and more.
Our nutrition program aims to improve the dietary health of children and adolescents through education, counseling, and diet status monitoring. Proper nutrition leads to a healthy childhood thereby enhancing mental and physical development as well as overall quality of life.
Children, like adults, may need psychological care for a problem that cannot be managed by their available support system. Parents are often puzzled about how to be helpful with learning and emotional problems. Psychotherapy can provide relief for a range of issues, from depression and low self-esteem to addiction and family disputes. It helps reduce anxiety, strengthen coping mechanisms, and improve social and community functioning.
Our Social Services program is invaluable in advocating for our children´s needs and identifying partner government and community agencies that can assist the children with medical and associated financial needs. Thereby enabling us to serve more children.
Our Prevention program focuses on teaching children and their parents the importance of proper hand washing and how to control the spread of germs when sneezing and coughing as well as the importance of oral hygiene and maintaining healthy teeth.
